Importance OF Meditation & Yoga

Written in 12-9-2009 by | No Comments

There are many ways to improve the quality of your life, but one that you may not have thought of is that of meditation. Some don’t believe it can offer them benefits but there is one thing that meditation and yoga can definitely provide to you: the ability to relax.
Yoga is a great tool for both exercise and relaxation. Both meditation and yoga have been shown to provide improvements for those that are in need of stress relief. And, when you learn how to do them effectively, it takes minutes a day to wash away your stresses.
So, how does this fit into your lifestyle fitness plan? It’s simple. You need to spend ten minutes each day, usually before breakfast, quietly meditating or doing yoga. Ten minutes per day is all that it takes to see significant improvement in your overall well being.
When you take into account all the things that you are doing in the morning you may not think you have time. But, again, invest the time for a couple of weeks and you are sure to see the improvements quickly and they will not be such a demanding time taker.
You can learn how to do either meditation or yoga (or both if you like) easily. Some people are familiar with it enough that they can learn how to do is through at home study. It’s often a better solution, though to learn with others through a professional.
Get together with a friend and take a class at your local recreation center or your community college. You’ll find that once you learn the technique you can do the process on your own, easily.

If you are doing the aerobics and maintaining a strict diet but still could not possibly get the desired results, then you must think about increasing the intensity of your exercise. Aerobics is not only about dancing to the tunes or practicing some movements, it is about sustaining your heart rate at a desired level for over a period of time.

Aerobics sessions should be made longer. It should last up to atleast 1 hour and during that time your heart beat should be maintained in the training zone. For that your heart beat has to be checked periodically. Maintaining your heart beat in the training the zone for about 30 – 60 minutes will definitely burn more calories and will help you to get desired results.

Anyone can be a runner, with the right kind of training. Every training programme must have:

Endurance Training
: Minimal movement is the key to endurance training. Along distance runner should not waste energy by bouncing on each step or having a high leg lift.

Strength Training
: One should hit the gym five days a week and improve muscle strength.

Speed Training : In this routine, one should sprint for at least 50m and walk back.

The Mix Up : Do cycles of walking, jogging and sprinting. Do not run two days in row. The body needs times to recoup and if one keeps hitting the same muscles and ligaments every day, it might lead to single spot injury. Take rest for at least one day a week. If you run one day, cycle or row the next. Maintain a runner’s logbook to keep track of your progress.
